Tonight is the final quiz of 2025 so it's a great time to wish all players, supporters and followers of the FTQL a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. I hope you all have a great time, whatever you're doing, whether you're celebrating or not. Thanks for being a big part of the quiz league and enjoy your 2 weeks off!

Just to confirm some key information and dates before we break.
We have had 12 of the 13 weeks of H1. The final league fixture before the split will take place the first week back and then we'll move to a D1 and D2 structure based on league position. The top 7 will be placed into D1 and the bottom 7 will be placed into D2. This does leave a bye week for each team - please let me know if you have any requests for preferences. These are not guaranteed but we'll do our best to accommodate them where possible. Also, it does leave a D1 and D2 team free each week so if the teams wish to play a friendly (with handicap) using that week's questions, they are more than welcome to by formally requesting it from myself. We'll deliver the questions as normal the usual cost will apply.
22/12: No quiz
29/12: No quiz
05/01: Final league fixture for H1. Also, please get any requests for bye week preferences to me before 11pm.
12/01: Mid-season meeting - venue TBC but likely to be the Olde Tavern in Pontefract. We will do the usual discussion on the season so far, confirm the divisions for H2 and confirm the handicap values. We will also draw both cup competitions at the meeting.
19/01: R1 of Knockout Cup
26/01: H2 league season starts
The full calendar can be found here.
On behalf of the rest of the committee, merry Christmas, we hope you all enjoy and we look forward to having you back refreshed and raring to go on 5th January.
