Every week, our league analyst, Neil Aspland, does a round-up and summary of the questions and which ones stumped everyone. Please find below the analysis from Week 1.

[The quiz was indeed well balanced as far as this match was concerned: in the verbal team rounds, 5 unanswered questions went to ‘A’ (Olde Taverners) and 6 went to ‘B’.]

STATISTICS:

In the verbal team rounds, only one question wasn’t correctly answered by anyone in the FTQL on the night. The easiest way of finding such questions, incidentally, is to look at the Thatched House’s scoresheet and find the odd question that nobody answered there, and then look at the other matches to see if anybody else got it. This week, the Thatched House’s match only failed to answer the last pair of Football questions, but two other teams got Steven Gerrard’s Saudi club (Al-Ettifaq), which leaves the question about women’s football as the only unanswered question on the night:
