71 Is Today's Number

Week 3 Summary

Like an episode of Sesame Street (a children's TV show that didn't feature in tonight's quiz), this week's number is 71. Three teams finished with this score tonight. Interestingly, and I use this in the most loose sense possible, we also had two 63's and two 87's. What are the chances ay?

The Other Team continued their impressive start to the season with a 67 to 63 win over Kippax British Legion. I am told that it was neck and neck for a while in a very close match. This win puts Debby's team on 3 points and Kippax still to score.

The Thatched House stumbled this week, 'only' picking up 96 points after their two centuries so far in a very high-scoring match with the King's Arms who scored our favourite number, 71.

Carleton Grangers continued their 100% start to the season beating the Golden Lion Dudes 87 to 54. The other 100% team, Kippax Legionnaires, also scored 87 against Olde Taverners' 65.

The Vic picked up their first points, against Featherstone Phoenix who are also yet to score, with a 71 to 63 win.

The final match saw another close-fought competition with Olde Tavern Allsorts coming out 79 to 71 winners against Flanagan's Army.

With The Thatched House leading the way and last season's Division 2 champions Carleton currently in second, we have a cracker of a match in store next week as they face each other. A 71 all draw maybe?
