Welcome back everyone!
On 1st September 2025, we held our annual AGM at the Carleton Grange. You can find the full minutes here if you want to read them but here is a brief summary of the key points:
The league finances are in a good shape and we have a healthy balance sheet and made a small profit last year. This has meant that we are happy to hold the subscriptions at £6 per team per playing week for this season.
The existing committee were re-elected for the coming year and Simon Curtis was elected to be League President.
Neil Aspland is unfortunately unable to continue as statistician however he will remain on the committee and Dave Roach will take up the reigns in a non-committee role. Thanks to both Neil for all his hard work with this over many years and thanks to his team mate Dave who takes it on.
We have 2 new teams this season, which is fantastic. Welcome to both new teams.
The Oat Crackers will play out of The Mason's Arms in Ackworth
The Smeaton Scholars will play out of The Shoulder of Mutton in Kirk Smeaton
The league format remains this season with the split-league format.
A minor rule change has been made and we will only allow 45 seconds per answer and 15 seconds for any pass over.
We have our annual charity night at the Featherstone Hotel on 22nd September at 8pm - please come along, take part in a fun quiz and raise some money for charity. Please bring a raffle prize along if you can.
Season proper will start on 29th September
Here's to another great season and good luck to all players and teams!
